Who I am

I am Arun Kumar, of Lumenara Press. I decide how the details you give me on this site are used, which makes me the “data controller”. You can reach me at arun@lumenara.co.uk.

What I collect, and why

• When you fill in a form on this site (Chapter One, the Sankalpa Builder, or “leave your number”): your first name, your mobile or WhatsApp number, the box you ticked, anything you choose to write in the optional note, whether you have a copy of the book, and the page you were on. I use this to send you what you asked for and, if you ticked the box, to message you personally on WhatsApp.
• If you email me: your email address and what you write, so I can reply.
• When you visit: the website host keeps ordinary server logs (your IP address, the page asked for, the time). I use no analytics or advertising cookies or trackers on this site.

My lawful basis

Consent. You tick the box, and you can withdraw it at any time. For emails you send me first, my basis is legitimate interests: replying to the person who wrote to me.

Who else sees it

• Formspree (a US company) receives what you type into a form and emails it to me. It is my processor and acts only on my instructions. Transfers to the US rely on the safeguards the UK allows for this.
• WhatsApp (Meta) carries the messages I send you, under its own privacy policy.
• My website host holds the site and its server logs.
• Google: the fonts on this site load from Google Fonts, and the film thumbnail loads from YouTube, so Google can see your IP address when a page loads. The video itself only loads if you press play.

I do not sell your details, rent them out, or pass them to anyone for their marketing.

How long I keep it

Until you ask me to stop or to delete it, or until I no longer have a reason to contact you. I will review the list at least once a year and remove anyone who has not engaged.

Your rights

You can ask me to show you what I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can also withdraw consent whenever you like: reply “stop” on WhatsApp or email me. I will act on it promptly and at the latest within one month.

If you are unhappy

Tell me first and I will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk, helpline 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If I change how I use your details I will update this page and the date at the top.
