Fatherhood

You snapped at the kids. You know it wasn’t about the kids.

Six ticks, thirty seconds. No parenting course.

Tick what’s true

Nothing ticked yet.

Tap what’s true. It stays on your screen. Nobody sees it.

Try one thing today

Tonight, tell them one true thing: “I was angry earlier and I got it wrong.”

The one-page guide

What my Sunday taught me, in five moves.

1

Look at their face before the next word.

My daughter cried and wanted to stay. Her face was the gap. I held her and said we would stay ten more minutes. She settled at once.

2

Don’t file it.

A feeling I noticed and said nothing about the week before came back the next Sunday. Held feelings don’t dissolve. They wait for the nearest moment that looks like the first.

3

Repair it out loud.

In the car I told the girls I had been angry and should have handled it better. The boundary was right. How I held it could have been calmer.

4

Let them say the true thing.

Kyra, three years old, looked at me: “Anger is a feeling, Daddy. It’s not you.” She already knew.

5

Finish: “I am…” without the label.

If you can’t, that’s not failure. It’s the real question. Find your answer →

Keep it. Pass it on.

Want to talk it through?

Twenty minutes, free, no pitch. I’m a father who got it wrong in the car, not a therapist.
